Summer Volunteer Crew

We're recruiting up to 25 teen volunteers to join our Summer Volunteer Crew! Do you need community service hours? Want to get out of the house, lend your special talents, meet cool people, and do all sorts of fun stuff? You've come to the right place.

Important Dates

May 23 - June 13: Submit your application for the Summer Volunteer Crew.
June 16: ​Watch for an email update about your volunteer status!
June 20: Selected volunteers should aim to attend orientation.
June 24: Tentative first volunteer day for Summer Reading Program prep
June 30 - August 8: Volunteer shifts available to help staff the Summer Reading Program
August 19: Summer Volunteer Crew Thank-You Party!

We're looking for people who:

• are entering grades 7-12
• have a positive attitude
• enjoy being around kids of all ages
• take direction well 
• can work independently and in teams
• can commit to ~2 hours (of your own choosing) per week from June 24 - August 8

What does the Summer Volunteer Crew do?

• volunteer during library hours based on your own availability
• register people for the summer reading program
• check reading logs and hand out prizes
• help people find books
• keep the library tidy
• organize stuff
• set up and break down chairs and tables for events indoors and outside
• assist children with activities during programs
• decorate the library
• design graphics for fliers and social media
• prepare craft materials
• help people follow the library rules
• and other things as needed!
